The intention of this sculpture is to, in some way; elevate the ordinary nature of tools to the special status they deserve. The tools of a foundry sand-moulder are racked and stored in this dome of compartments. Each tool has a function, each compartment holds a secret.

The sculpture is intended to tabulate the mysteries of a craft through depicting the extensions of our hands.

This intimate museum of implements is housed in a dome created from sheet steel by cutting and stretching the steel in the same fashion as a paper Christmas decoration. The included tools may be cast replicas permanently fixed in position
